The Massachusetts PDA Study Group exists to provide a reflective, collaborative consultation space for experienced clinicians committed to neurodevelopmentally informed, PDA-affirming practice. Grounded in clinical expertise and professional use of self, the group supports thoughtful engagement with demand, capacity, and nervous system regulation while advancing ethical, connected, and self-directed approaches to care in the absence of established best-practice models.
If we are successful, Massachusetts will have a visible, connected community of clinicians who recognize and understand the PDA profile of autism. Families will be able to locate knowledgeable providers without having to educate them, travel extensively, or navigate care in isolation. Professionals across disciplines will share a common language and baseline understanding of PDA, reducing harm, fragmentation, and misinterpretation of need. Over time, this network will contribute to more consistent, informed responses to PDA across clinical, educational, and community systems statewide.
