The Massachusetts PDA Clinical Consultation & Study Group was created in response to a growing need for clinicians who are informed, thoughtful, and grounded in PDA-affirming practice.
In 2024, Elise began organizing the group after years of training professionals nationally in PDA-informed approaches. Through this work, it became clear that families in her home state of Massachusetts were struggling to access knowledgeable providers. Her vision was to create a local pipeline of well-trained professionals who could meaningfully support PDA-identified children, youth, and families.
What began as a small weekly case consultation group has grown into a collaborative professional community. Since its inception, mental health clinicians, occupational therapits, educators, speech-language pathologists, and parent coaches have joined the group for varying lengths of time, contributing diverse perspectives and expertise. Members continue to collaborate beyond meetings—supporting one another in clinical work, professional development, training initiatives, and emerging research.
Our shared goal is to build a strong, highly qualified network of PDA-affirming professionals—one that can meet the needs of families now, and help shape more responsive, ethical, and informed care for the future.
